That's all, folks!
All good things must come to an end.
Tonight was the final 'Open Day/Night' for the Reformation Tours project.
While it is sad to bring down the curtain on what has been a thrilling adventure over the last eight months in the Martyrs, we are satisfied that we were able to launch this initiative with months to spare prior to the grand 500th anniversary date of 31 October 2017 – and have been able to keep the doors open for a couple of months beyond this.
It is our estimate that since the tours began at the start of May, 1500 people have visited the Reformation Rooms. This has vastly exceeded our largest expectations. A huge thank you for everyone who worked tirelessly to make this happen and to all who supported the project when the doors were open.
As we go back to the drawing board to conceive plans for next year, with an opening date, God willing, around Easter 2018 – the 'Just By Faith Alone Tour' will remain open to receive several tour groups that have been scheduled between now and the end of this year. For those who missed out this time, all is not yet lost. The Luther exhibits / tour will remain in place until displaced by a new exhibition, meaning that the only opportunities for visiting will be:
(i) after a Sunday evening service (if we know in advance you are planning to come, we can arrange for a tour guide to be prepared),
(ii) or we are still happy to accommodate bookings for a party of people, provided you are bringing a reasonable quota of persons. As you will understand, we cannot provide tours for one or two individuals.
Once again, many thanks for all your help, prayerful and practical support. We look forward to seeing you in the new season!
