Starting Two New Sermon Series

Two new series of sermons began at Martyrs today:

• The morning series is 'Symbols of the Spirit.' This is expected to last at least 12 weeks, so, God willing, it will take us well into the New Year. Two previous series at Martyrs have concentrated our minds on the Veracity of Scripture and the Value of the Saviour – 'Getting the Best out of your Bible' (Part 1) and 'The Titles of Christ beginning with the letter C' respectively. With this current series we will be examining the Person and Work of the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit.

• In the evening we treated the first of the miracles of Christ as recorded in the Gospel of Mark. Mark 1:21-28 served as our text as we explored the work of Jesus in healing the man with the unclean spirit (or, as Wycliffe translated it, "the man in the unclean spirit"). We plan to pursue this series over a period of – ? – weeks ... . I'll let you fill in the blank here: check how many miracles of Christ are noted within the compass of the 16 chapters of this dynamic Gospel!
