In keeping with our recent practice of taking themes from The Great War 100 years ago, our focus this year was on:

1. The Slaughterhouse of Verdun – Where Germany Tried to Bleed France White,

and,

2. How News of the Somme Reached Home.

It was a delight to be able to welcome a large crowd to our evening service when many visitors, including those who formerly filled the pews of Martyrs, were present. Undoubtedly the Gospel reached many hearts on this occasion - in some cases, we are persuaded, for the very first time.

Please pray with us that the Word of God will effectually work on in hearts, drawing souls from their sin and its inevitable consequences into the joy of salvation. That would definitely put the top layer on this day of Remembrance.
